I was pretty enlightened by the lecture I had earlier on. Lectures usually make me fidget around and yawn but this one was good.
And as Qin requested, the 10 or so points which made me feel good.
You better read all of it ah, I had to type word by word at 1.45 am ok? After rummaging a large pile of papers you know! ( Fighting desire to sleep)
- Human come in all shapes and sizes, we celebrate this diversity
- There is NO ideal body size, weight, shape
- Everybody is a good body, regardless of shape and size,
- Self esteem & body image are strongly linked, & by helping people feel good about their body can help motivate health behaviours
- Appearance stereotyping is unfair because it is based on superficial factors,
- we respect other's bodies even though they are different from our own,
- each person is responsible for caring for his/her own body
- good health is not defined by body size, it is a state of physical, mental & social well-being
and all along those lines & also "image is superficial and impossible for most women. Less than 5% of female population are supermodels". Take Kate Moss that rake, smokes pot, have an ugly ex-bf but why do people still idolise her. Too thin of a body, ribs jutting out, small or fake boobs. No idea. Come on la, <95% still wins.
So, who are we to judge people on how they look like, if there's no such thing as an IDEAL body size or whatever?
We should really appreciate the fact that humans comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, 'cause if everyone looked exactly like me, I think I for one would be extremely pissed.
Fat is an adjective used to describe non-living things, e.g. pillow
No one is fat, fat is just a stupid word created my idiots who have nothing better to do.
I rather be healthy and fleshy than having my own body eating itself
& if you think I am "FAT" or "ugly", I do not need a 'stupid', 'annoying','insensitive' twit who has no sense of security & likes to degrade people based solely on their appearance to be my friend. GO AWAY!
